The timely of first aid during emergencies can make a difference. A woman was hit by a stray bullet during the Cardinals game. According to the police, a woman attending a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game was grazed in the arm by a stray bullet that possibly originated outside the Busch Stadium.
Stray bullet
The 34-year old victim was within the ballpark during the game against the Milwaukee Brewers when she felt increasing pain in her arm. She proceeded to a first aid station for first aid treatment and a bullet was later discovered near her seat. She sustained an abrasion on one of her elbows. Luckily, it was sheer luck that she only sustained a minor injury. If the trajectory of the bullet swerved either to the left or right, it would have been a serious injury or someone else would be wounded.
Todd Porter was seated in front of the victim with his son. The woman said that she might have been shot. He thought she was joking but everybody turned around and she had blood flowing down from her elbow. He decided to leave the game before more shooting occurs.
According to the St. Louis police, the incident simply amplifies the yearly message of encouraging “Fun without guns”.
Other similar incidents were reported throughout the years around Major League Baseball.
