Calgary First Aid proudly offers Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) training and certification. This course is offered in either a classroom format or in an on-line course format. Both courses provide identical content and certification. The on-line course is approximately 3 hours in length. The classroom WHMIS course takes approximately 4 hours to complete and is offered monthly. The On-Line WHMIS Course

This course can be taken anytime at your leisure through our on-line training program. Individuals that work in jobs with hazardous material are required to have WHMIS training. This course takes approximately 2 hours to complete and includes 6 modules. Each module requires participants to complete a short quiz in order to move on to the next module. No prerequisites are required to take the course. The Classroom WHMIS Course

The classroom WHMIS course takes 4 hours to complete. Course dates, times and locations are posted below. This course is available at both our north and south training centres.

How Much Does This Course Cost?

We proudly offers this course at the lowest price in Canada. The online course costs 29.99. The classroom course costs 49.99. Course cost includes tax and registration fees. No other provider offers this course at a lower rate.  Companies and business can receive more competitive prices with available group purchases.

What Topics Are Covered in This Course?

This course includes 6 units:

  • Unit 1 – Introduction to WHMIS
  • Unit 2 – Product Labels
  • Unit 3 – Symbols and Classes
  • Unit 4 – Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Unit 5 – Worker Training and Education
  • Unit 6 – Exceptions and Exemption

This course requires participants to complete a short quiz and the end of each component. Each participants grades and completion dates are stored in our secure database.  If you lose your certificate we can simply resend your award.

When Do I Receive My Certificate?

Participants that successfully complete all modules will immediately receive a  certificate stating successful completion of St Mark James WHMIS training.  This certificate does not expire.

What Are the Prerequisites?

No prerequisites are required for participants to take the course.
