Sudden death despite CPR at Thunder Bay requires investigation

A 40-year old man was found unconscious and given CPR by the paramedics. According to the police in Thunder Bay, a man is dead after being rushed to a healthcare facility when he was found unconscious by a passerby at the south side city park.

The police stated that someone was walking in the area of Kamview Overlook Park and found the 40-year old man unconscious near the benches and called 911.

Based on a written release, despite the attempt of the paramedics in delivering CPR and transporting him to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre by ambulance with police escort, the man was declared dead upon arrival.

The identity of the man has been confirmed and his family has been identified. A spokesperson stated that the force cannot release his identity since the death is still under investigation by the coroner’s officer.
