CPR performed on inmate in New Brunswick

A 49-year old inmate in New Brunswick was given CPR after found unresponsive in his cell. The Correctional Service Canada is investigating the death of the inmate.

Based on a statement, the inmate was found unresponsive in his cell at Dorchester Penitentiary. The staff called emergency services and performed CPR but failed to resuscitate him.

The inmate was in the medium security unit and the correctional service stated that he had been serving an indeterminate sentence since 1982 for first-degree murder.
