A young girl, 9-years old was given CPR after a near drowning incident. At the time of the incident, the staff at the Lawson Civic Centre were scrambling after a young girl was found unconscious in the water.
Near drowning incident
The 9-year old girl was on a field trip with Brunskill School in Saskatoon. She was taken out of the water by lifeguards who delivered CPR. Luckily, the girl regained consciousness and was taken to a healthcare facility. According to the ambulance officials, the girl is expected to be in a stable condition.
The City of Saskatoon stated that the staff at the civic centre will receive a critical incident debriefing.

When spending time near sources of water, safety is always a priority. Aside from maintaining safety measures, it is important to learn first aid skills especially cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
