17-year-old boy given CPR after vehicular accident

A 17-year old boy received CPR after a vehicular accident. The boy died in a healthcare facility after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough’s Golfdale Gardens neighborhood.

Vehicular ordeal

The incident occurred at Confederation Drive and Scarborough Golf Club Road at around 8:20 PM. According to the police, the teen appears to have been struck as he was crossing the road. The citizens at the scene performed CPR on the boy before the first responders arrived and took over.

The boy was rushed to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Around two hours later, the police confirmed that the boy died of his injuries in the hospital.

A sedan with a smashed-in windshield and roof could still be seen on the road. The police have spoken to the driver of the vehicle and he is cooperating with the investigation.

The collision reconstruction team is also at the scene in an attempt to determine exactly what happened. They will be looking at the traffic at the time of the accident, lighting in the area and whether or not the area where the pedestrian was crossing was a controlled area.
