Paramedics from Urgences-Santé arrived on scene and found that the young girl had already been pulled from an in-ground pool. Urgences-Santé spokesperson Bill Lamle confirmed that the child was not breathing when she was rescued from the water. Despite immediate medical intervention, the girl later died.

Authorities stated that the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.
Police noted that the pool was reportedly fenced, raising questions about how the child was able to access the water unnoticed. The incident is under investigation, though officials have indicated it appears to have been accidental.
