A woman is severely injured after a hit-and-run incident early in the morning that involves a dump truck driver. The incident happened along the area of Bloor Street West and South Kingsway.
The 36 year-old woman suffered injuries after she was hit by a dump truck and the driver fled the area after the incident in Swansea. According to the witness the woman was crossing the intersection at the South Kingsway and Bloor Street West and was hit by a damp truck that was turning right on the Kingsway area. The woman dragged by the truck for a few distance before the truck finally stop. The paramedics described the injuries of the woman as very severe and later brought her to the hospital for further treatment.
Vehicular accident
After the crash, the driver of the damp truck paused for a while after bystanders shouted at him and eventually took off. Some employees of the Toronto transit commission and passersby who saw the accident ran after the truck driver and inform the police of his whereabouts. When the police caught up the truck, the driver is nowhere to be found, he fled on foot. He was eventually caught after a short foot chase. According to the police, the suspect is a man in his 20’s and there was no word on possible charges.
Some crew of the Toronto Transit Commission provided first aid to the injured woman. The women had severe injuries of the head and leg before the paramedics arrived. Some people nearby also helped in giving first aid to the woman. They placed a tourniquet to the injured leg to stop the bleeding. There were also some breaks in the leg. According to a witness there were already plenty of people who gathered in the area trying to help the woman while waiting for the medical responders. It is so nice to see people came and helped, everybody moved fast including the paramedics and the policemen. The woman was brought to the hospital for further treatment of the injuries.
The police are investigating the color of the traffic lights and still looking for series of events that led to the accident.
