Woman, 60, Drowns in Outaouais Cottage Country Lake
Police are investigating a tragic drowning that occurred at Lac-Raymond in Quebec’s Outaouais cottage country.
According to a report by the Montreal Gazette, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and the Quebec coroner’s office are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, which took place near Saint-Sixte, approximately 60 kilometres east of Ottawa. Emergency services were called to the lake on Wednesday after receiving reports of a woman in distress in the water at around 4:45 p.m.
The victim was identified as a 60-year-old woman. Despite rescue efforts and attempts to revive her at the scene, she was transported to hospital, where her death was later confirmed. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
