A head-on collision on Vancouver highway resulted in injuries that required first aid. According to police, a Ford Focus and Mercedes SUV collided over the centerline of the four-lane highway.
Road collision
Two people are taken to a healthcare facility with life-threatening injuries after an early morning head-on collision in Vancouver’s east and left seven people injured.
The incident occurred on Grandview Highway near Penticton Street. The incident left a segment of the highway closed for most of Friday as the police investigated the scene.
According to the police, the 20-year old male driver of the car and a 19-year old female passenger both from Burnaby were transported to a healthcare facility with life-threatening injuries. The third occupant of the vehicle sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The four passengers of the Mercedes with ages ranging from 48-70 sustained relatively minor injuries but were also taken to a healthcare facility for further care.
The necessity of first aid training
During emergencies, it is best that you are knowledgeable about basic first aid skills. You must enroll in first aid and CPR course to be prepared. You never know when emergencies occur and where.
