A man on Salt Spring Island died despite the delivery of CPR. The incident is under investigation by the police. According to the RCMP, the officers responded to reports of a fight on Richard Flack Road.
Timely intervention
They found 2 men performing CPR on an unresponsive man. The Salt Spring Island RCMP continued to perform CPR on the 36-year old man. He was transported to a healthcare facility but he was declared dead.
According to the police, the incident appears to be isolated and there are no charges laid. The Independent Investigations Office opened a probe into the death and investigating if the actions or inactions of the police are linked to the death of the man.
