Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) can save a life.

According to Myron Knihnitski, one of the employees who acted quickly, she had no experience with a defibrillator and there was another employee who did but she has never used it. She did not waste time and placed the pads down and started.

Those who do not have an AED yet should have one installed. If there is one available in a building, one should know its location and how to use it.
