Blaze in Surrey
Upon the arrival of the firefighters, they were told that a man was still in the residence. The crews worked to put out of the fire while another firefighter went inside the burning house where they found the man on the upper floor.
When the firefighter pulled the man out of the house, he did not have a pulse and was not breathing. The first responders performed CPR immediately and was able to revive the man. He was transported by ambulance to a healthcare facility. The other 4 occupants of the house all believe to be members of the same family were evacuated safely.
There were reports that neighbors rushed into the burning house to save some of the residents but it cannot be confirmed since the family members were already out on the lawn when the fire crews arrived.
A second ambulance was called to treat the residents on the lawn. The fire is under investigation. The fire officials do not believe that it has a suspicious nature but it has not been ruled out yet. There was extensive damage to the roof of the house.
