First aid care performed on the victim of stabbing incident

A man was rushed to a healthcare facility in severe condition after sustaining a stab wound inside a downtown Kelowna apartment suite.

According to the police, the 26-year old Vernon resident was found around 11 PM wandering along Pandosy Street with serious blood loss.

What happened at the scene?

A witness delivered first aid until the RCMP officers arrived and placed a tourniquet on the man’s leg to control the bleeding.

According to Cpl. Jesse O’Dongahey, the victim was in a state of near unconsciousness and could not fully cooperate with the investigators at the scene.

As for the initial findings at the scene, it shows that the alleged serious assault took place inside the apartment complex in the 1900 block of Pandosy Street. The victim exited the residence in search of help.

The investigators continue to follow up on several leads and hoping to hear from anyone with relevant information.
