Throughout this course, participants will develop enhanced CPR skills, including the use of a bag-valve mask (BVM) and coordinating with trained backup in emergency situations. Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and certification are also included.

Candidates registered in this course will learn to treat victims of the following emergencies:
- Unconscious breathing adult, child and infant victims.
- Unconscious non-breathing with pulse adult, child and infant victims.
- Unconscious non-breathing with no circulation, adult, child and infant victims.
- Conscious and unconscious obstructed airway (choking) adult, child and infant victims.
- Victims in cardiac arrest.
- Victims having circulatory emergencies including heart attacks, angina and strokes.

At Calgary First Aid we understand that people learn through a variety of different methods and in a variety of different speeds. If you do not complete the course the first time you are eligible to re-take the course at no extra cost.

Refunds and cancellations are not accepted within 72 hours of the initial course. Transfers are charged 25 dollars within 72 hours of the course. Prior to 72 hours candidates can receive a full refund from any CPR HCP course. There are no refunds for rescheduled events.
Students are strongly advised to check with their employer prior to enrollment to ensure the certification meets their requirements.

When I heard I had to go take my first aid, I wasn’t too excited. It turns out it wasn’t too bad after all. Our teacher Bren made the course a lot more interesting with his stories and good sense of humour. The course went by very fast for that reason.
I had the pleasure of taking the Health Care Provider CPR course with instructors Bren and Max. Bren taught the class on the first day and Max taught on the second. Both instructors were wonderful and presented the material clearly and interestingly.
Bren was super fun to learn from. He managed to incorporate the perfect amount of humor and seriousness in what would normally be a very dry and information-heavy course. I also really enjoyed hearing about the experiences from his own life and how what we were learning would be used in a real situation.
Max was also a great instructor. He was a little more laid-back than Bren but also knew when to be humorous and serious when it came to different topics. I really enjoyed hearing about his experiences in the field as an EMT and again, applying what we were learning in the classroom into a real situation.
I would love to have these instructors again when I get my recertification in 3 years time. Thanks again for everything guys!

I got Claudia for a two day standard CPR and first aid course, and she was amazing! kept all the information simple and easy to understand while telling us about her own personal experience to help us! the wording and grammar on the test should be improved as it was difficult to answer questions properly and the location wasn’t great for parking. Would definitely recommend this company and Claudia as she set us all up for success and is an amazing instructor!
