A house fire left a man in critical condition despite CPR

A man was rushed to Peter Lougheed hospital in critical condition after a house fire in northeast Calgary.

The emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Templeby Drive at around 10:30 AM. Upon arrival, the crews were met with a large volume of smoke and flames. The fire extended from the main floor to the attic.

According to neighbors, the victim who is in his 20s was found by firefighters during a search of the house. Once outside, the firefighters started CPR until the arrival of the EMS who took over.

The root cause of the fire is still under investigation.
