According to police reports, the man was crossing the roadway between two intersections when he was struck. Laval police officers arrived quickly and immediately began performing CPR in an attempt to save his life. Sadly, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead before being transported to hospital.
Investigators stated that the 38-year-old driver did not see the pedestrian due to inadequate lighting in the area. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
This heartbreaking event underscores how rapidly emergencies can unfold—and how essential it is for bystanders to be prepared to act in those first critical moments.
