Child who drowned in pool given CPR

A 3-year old boy was given CPR in a drowning incident at a family pool in Brossard. Sadly, the boy did not make it. The child was discovered unconscious in a pool on Tardif St. He was rushed to a healthcare facility where he was pronounced dead.

Watery ordeal

The father of the boy administered CPR while waiting for the arrival of the police. The paramedics also utilized an automated external defibrillator (AED) but neither the pulse nor breathing of the child was not restored during transport to a healthcare facility.

According to the preliminary information by Bruce Dyotte, spokesperson for the Cooperative des techniciens ambulanciers de la Monteregie (CETAM), the boy might have spent between 2-3 minutes underwater.

According to Ghyslain Vallieres, spokesperson for the Longueuil police, investigators are at the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
