Lifeguards at the Kinsmen Water Park were credited for saving the life of a child. At Kinsmen Water Park, a child was found unconscious at around 3 PM and the staff immediately performed CPR.
Water safety
Upon the arrival of the paramedics from Parkland Ambulance at the park, the child was already alert.
The 9-year old was transported to the Victoria Hospital to undergo treatment with an adult family member. The City of Prince Albert says that all children below 8 years old should be accompanied by an adult who is within reach in the water. Children below 10 years must have an adult as a companion at the park.
The Kinsmen Water Park was closed on Thursday to investigate and debrief with the staff. On Friday, it reopened.
According to the Parkland Ambulance Paramedics, they confirmed that the child was rescued and in a good stable condition. Without the quick response of the staff, the outcome would have been different.
