Calgary First Aid offers a variety of Red Cross First aid and CPR courses. All of these courses are taught by trained and experienced Red Cross first aid instructors. Candidates that successfully complete these programs will immediately receive first aid and CPR certification. Select the course that you need from the selection below. All classes include training in CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED).

Different Types of First Aid and CPR Courses include:

  • Standard First Aid, CPR and AED – This is a two day (14 hour) course that covers a range of first aid topics and gives candidates the option of CPR level “A”, “C” or “HCP” to partner with the course. AED training is included.
  • Emergency First Aid, CPR and AED – This is a one day (7 hour) course that covers only the major first aid topics and includes CPR level “A”, “C” or “HCP”. AED training is included.
  • Childcare First Aid, CPR and AED – Standard childcare first aid is a two day course and emergency childcare first aid is a one day course. Both include training in CPR level “B” and the usage of AED’s.

Red Cross Certification:

Once a candidate successfully completes the skills component and the multiple choice exam with a minimum grade of 75% then he or she will immediately receive a Red Cross first aid and CPR certificate which is valid for 3 years. Most of the courses mentioned in the above list have available re-certification courses in which candidates may renew certification at a cheaper cost and in a shorter course. For more information about renewal courses select the first aid re-certification tab from the main menu or the side menu bar.
